For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.
Thank you for your interest in celebrating the Sacrament of Baptism for your child. As you might know, this is the Sacrament of entry into the Catholic Community. In our Catholic faith we baptize children due to the promise of faith and commitment by the adults, the parents. With this in mind I ask you to continue to reflect on the importance of faith and community in your own lives and be committed to it so that you can share it with your child.
At St. John Vianney the Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of each month after the 11:30 AM mass. Email Denise Carlucci at firstname.lastname@example.org to register your child. Once registered, you will receive a call or visit from a member of the Elizabeth Ministry.
The woman of the Elizabeth Ministry at St. John Vianney meet with all families seeking baptism for their children. Families receive a gift bag to welcome the newest member of our parish community. The Elizabeth Ministry is a parish-based outreach to women in their childbearing years. Women draw on their own personal stories and experiences and offer companionship, encouragement, prayers and support to other women during the childbearing years. If you wish to schedule a visit, please call Patty Lambrou (401) 333-0851 or Regina Bamford (508) 878-7045.
